You Want a Job? You Got it!

As the Co-founder of Butterfly, I have been honored to meet a plethora of intelligent, savvy and witty women in business.  One such woman is Diana Kostas.  Diana is the Director of Business Development for Worth New York, a $100 million dollar luxury clothing sales business that allows women to succeed in their own business, while balancing family and community involvement.

Proving that the aforementioned is NOT just a claim, I offered my services to become an Agency Leader for Worth with the intention of sharing my experience with you. So, what does that mean exactly?  I am committed to hosting/selling the spring and summer 2012 Worth New York line in my home, for just one week.  I will document my experience and which will allow you to experience a run-through of the job by way of me!

Put simply, Worth New York, is offering YOU a career in fashion. I am offering you a behind the scenes look into the job of an Agency Leader, so that you may determine if in fact this is a job for you and your lifestyle.

Are you a natural leader with a large network of personal contacts who loves connecting with other women? If so, Worth New York is looking for YOU! (link to landing page-worth is looking for you!)

Fair Pay Act. Senators say, “no thanks” this Thanksgiving

In the midst of a supermarket excursion with the kids, in preparation to feed over two-dozen family members for Thanksgiving, which is no small feat, Terry forwarded me an outlandish email. We’re sure (whether you’re a Butterfly Mom from “Down Under” or from Denmark) you, like us, are completely outraged to learn: The Paycheck Fairness Act came to the Senate floor days ago and was defeated! On the grounds of sexual orientation we are to get paid less for the same job as men. Period.
According to MomsRising.org, “
The Paycheck Fairness Act was (and is) sorely needed to update the Equal Pay Act, which passed in 1963, and doesn’t reflect modern realities of a labor force that’s 50% women. Right now women make 77 cents to every dollar made by men and the pay gap has been narrowing by less than half a percent a year. That means at this rate the pay gap won’t close until 2057. Forty-seven years from now!” If you’re a U.S. citizen, join us as we personally help this stellar organization by signing on to their short letter to all the Senators who voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act asking them to explain to their daughters, and ours, why in 2010 women don’t deserve the right to equal pay for equal work. Read More

With that, for those who are planning to be in the NYC area, and who would very much like to take in a Broadway moment, Butterfly is even more thrilled to offer you a break on spending outlandish sums this holiday season on entertainment and such:

  • With the code, FSBERRY9, you can get tickets as low as$35 to Freckleface Strawberry – a new family musical, based on the New York Times Best Selling book by actress Julianne Moore. Read More
  • With the code CLUBLOVE, you can get tickets as low as 45 to Miss Abigail’s Guide To Dating, Mating, & Marriage, starring Eve Plumb, a.k.a. Jan from the Brady Bunch! Read More
  • WIN a Maidenform at Home 3-Piece Outfit! 3 selected winners so Enter Now

We’ve got to stick together, we women, and help one another out! Know that if we could, we’d have you ALL over for a big fat turkey dinner (or tofu dinner if you happen to be vegan). We give thanks to you this Thanksgiving. Not to the Senators – to you, the members of Butterfly. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. SMOOCH.

Warmly,
