Before October marks its end with a bevy of costumes and a sugar rush to boot, I urge you to consider hanging out with two unbelievably talented (and oh so cool) Butterfly moms, Danielle Monaro and Siggy Flicker:
Help to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure by bidding on 2-Tickets to a sold-out Jingle Ball in NYC (featuring LADY GAGA and PITBULL, to name a few), lunch with Z100 co-host, Danielle Monaro and Z100 studio tour included!
Bid to raise money for VH1 Save the Music Foundation and enjoy a 45-minute phone consultation with Siggy Flicker, Love/Life Coach, STAR of VH1’s new hit reality show, “Why am I Still Single?” The winner will also receive a “Turbo Twins Makeover” from the show’s Twin Beauty Experts, Jen and Jamie Dunn!

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year- what a bonus for working moms! No need to race home from work to take your children door to door. No need to feel guilty that you can’t make it home until past dark. Halloween is on Saturday this year- what a wonderful thing! My son is of the age where he thinks it’s hysterical to dress up like a cheerleader and actually convinced me to buy him the outfit. Pom poms and all. My daughter, on the other hand, had her mind set on being Hannah Montana which meant purchasing a sequined hot pink dress that is older than her (6) years. The things we do for our children. Enjoy October 31st and remember the following:
8 Tips for a Successful Halloween
1. Feed your children (and yourself) before you set out to trick or treat to avoid a candy binge
2. Check all candy to make sure nothing has been opened or tampered with (toss all home-baked goods, unless received from friends)
3. Let your children keep a handful of treats and give the rest away (my husband takes it to work)
4. Consider giving out non-edible treats like temporary tattoos or stickers
5. Don’t let your child run with a lollipop sticking out of their mouth- this makes us SO nervous
6. Stay close to your child as they bolt from door to door- it can be hard to keep up
7. Do not let your child go trick or treating alone, especially at night
8. Do not get caught when you steal your favorite candy from your child’s stash
If you’d like to submit photos of your children in costume to be featured on the homepage of MyWorkButterfly.com, please email jpegs directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Butterfly’s homepage currently features photos, blogs, forums, groups, to name a few, and two exciting contests! Simply listen and blog/tweet/post to win a copy of MoZella’s hit CD, an autographed guitar or a live “phone chat” with the artist herself. And, join any of the active groups to win a copy of the first season DVD copy of “The Guardian.” The first 10 entries are guaranteed to win!
I feel like I’ve already won in a sense. I am fortunate to have won your support and the support of the dozens of moms I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing. November will feature one such woman- Laurie Gelman. Laurie is the co-host of Toronto’s The Mom Show and just happens to be the wife of Michael Gelman, Executive Producer of Live with Regis and Kelly. Laurie invited us into her home and into her life as a mother, wife and worker. I trust you will love watching her interview in November as much as we loved conducting it. Upcoming exclusive mom mentor video interviews with: Liz Lange, Dana Buchman, Fox New’s Jennifer Griffin, Real Housewives of NJ, Dina Manzo, to name a few. Let me know who you’d like to see in a featured mom mentor video on MyWorkButterfly.com by emailing email@example.com and I will do our best to make that happen.
